What drives innovation and transformation in manufacturing? Artificial intelligence (AI), data, trust in technology, and fostering a workforce with new skills were among the answers given by leaders from the private and public sectors during a Caixin-hosted discussion at the annual World Economic Forum meeting.
“It’s all about digitalization,” said Michael Suess, executive chairman of OC Oerlikon Corp. AG, a Switzerland-based tech company whose businesses range from material science to 3D printing. Developing new materials with AI can shorten the development time from years to months, he said.
