While China hasn’t made “big strides” in developing carbon capture technology yet, it offers major opportunities for the country and deserves policy attention, according to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) energy technology chief.

“China embraces pretty much all of the clean energy technologies that you can think of, but I’ve always been wondering about the comparative lack of progress in the carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) space,” Timur Gül told Caixin in an exclusive interview in Beijing on Monday.
