China and South Korea firms team up on lithium material venture in Morocco
Chinese lithium compound manufacturer Sichuan Yahua Industrial Group Co. Ltd. has partnered with South Korea’s LG Energy Solution Ltd. to produce lithium materials in Morocco for the American and European markets.
While the North African country has limited lithium reserves and no lithium exploration underway, it can still export its lithium production to both the U.S. and the European Union due to its status as a signatory to free trade agreements with both regions.
The specifics of the partnership were not disclosed by the companies. Yahua told Caixin that details remain under negotiation.
